The Healthy Hornist

Musicians are Athletes.  Injury due to overuse, while prevalant, can be prevented through proper use of the body in playing an instrument.  Recovering from injury - whether due to overuse or another catalyst - takes time and patience.   Optimum mental health also figures prominently into developing a whole-istic approach to making music on the horn.

Some exercises in breathing that increases awareness of whole-body presence.  The Double-Up breathing of exercise #2 also has been reported to facilitate states of calmness!
